12-06-2016 ....News Update 26
Hello. Calvin here. The passing away of the boxing icon, Mohammed Ali, a few days ago reminds me of the difficult period in which he lived. Just having a gift and natural talent in boxing was not enough, he also had to fight circumstances outside the ring. Blacks in America had a hard time as they never had many rights and Ali was called up to serve in the Vietnam war which he refused to do.
So here was a man who never backed down, and spoke out and lived according to his convictions.
This reminds me that we too have to find what we are talented at and what drives us to work as hard as we do.
Yet this is not enough. Sometimes, we are criticized at work or have a boss who has unfair demands or unrealistic expectations. Well, we cannot fold and let our talents go diminished. We, have to take courage like Ali and stand up to what we believe is right…even if it means risking our jobs.
We cannot let the fear of having no income turn us into wilting flowers and have our spirits crushed. No, my friend, like Ali we have to stand up and be outspoken for what we believe in.
Why this “gusto” newsletter, you may ask.
Well, as you know, I have started CalvinAcademy because I believe not enough is being done to turn our young people into entrepreneurs and many of the training methods/material is not relevant in today’s digitized society. So I am taking the courage inspired by Ali and running my school in the best interests of my students.
This means INTERNSHIPS, ENTREPRENEURSHIPS & MENTORSHIPS done correctly is the solution, NOT Diplomas, certificates and degrees at incompetent over-priced colleges.
This week, ALL my Academy students will actively be involved in my INTERNSHIP programme which is geared to give them the practical experience which is vital before they can venture on their own and turn their passion into profits with their newly aquired, specialized computer software skills.
They will we assisting at both small and large companies to put their skills to practical use and “swim with the big fish”. I am confident they will cope and not “drown” in the new environment and pressure.
If your company requires AutoCAD and graphic design skills and would like to become part of my internship programme then please send me an email.......

I am glad to say that the new CorelDraw X8 version has created a lot of interest in CorelDraw classes this month.I want to encourage you to upgrade your CorelDraw skills sooner rather than later.
As you know, I focus on one-to-one training as it is by far the best way you will learn CorelDraw or any Adobe products (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator being the main graphic design software) and AutoCAD and SolidWorks as well.
Whether you want to learn On-Site, in the mornings, evenings or over a Saturday morning, please reply to this email newsletter and I will be there to help you get started.
See your training as a journey which you do not want to rush but want personal guidance along the way no matter what your pace. I will work out your own customised training schedule dates. This is important that you know that if you are serious about upping your graphic design skill level, then you should not wait but start creating momentum now by getting started. Good Luck and all the best with your plans and endevours (wow, a big word, but a nice one to use....lol)
